ABSU - DISCOGRAFIA.

Absu é uma banda de black metal dos Estados Unidos da América, formada em 1990.
Antes de todo o sucesso alcançado, esta banda americana de Black Metal vinda de Dallas, Texas, nasceu em 1989 sob o título "Domen". Originalmente formada por Equitant Ifernain (guitarra, baixo, backing vocals e letras) e por Shaftiel (guitarra, baixo, instrumentos acústicos, vocal e harpa), estes dois músicos montaram a banda Absu quando lançaram sua primeira demo-tape entitulada "Return of the Ancients".

Esta fita acabou nas mãos da gravadora americana Gothic Records, que lançou um EP intitulado "The Temples of Offal" em 1992. Em quatro meses a banda (poeticamente influenciada por mitos e lendas celtas e pela teologia Necronômica, Mesopotâmica e Suméria de Azif) vendeu duas mil cópias mundialmente. Enquanto isso, Equitant e Shaftiel estavam tendo alguns problemas com os outros músicos que constituíam a banda e perceberam que uma drástica mudança era necessária.

As mudanças foram feitas. McGovern (todos os sequencers percussivos, mellotron, vocal e letras), ex-integrante da banda Magus, integrou-se ao Absu. Na verdade, McGovern já tinha trabalhado com Equitant e Shaftiel muito antes da banda Dolmen existir.

Consequentemente, a gravadora francesa Osmose Productions assinou um contrato com a Gothic Records para a gravação do álbum de estréia do Absu em 1993, intitulado "Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L.".

Em abril de 1995, "The Sun of Tiphareth" é lançado. Por causa da grande demanda por um novo álbum, "Tiphareth" foi proclamado como o álbum mais inovador ainda oculto álbum de Death/Thrash dos anos 90.

No mesmo mês de abril, o baixista/vocalista Mezzadurus (da banda Bloodstorm) entra na banda para a turnê européia "Sex, Cyber & Rock 'n Roll". Junto com seus companheiros de gravadora Impaled Nazarene e Sadistic Exekution, a banda Absu provou para o mundo que veio para ficar. Em julho do mesmo ano, tiveram a oportunidade de sair em turnê pela América do Norte juntamente com a banda Enslaved, o que foi uma grande responsabilidade.

A banda lançou em 1997 o devastador álbum "The Third Storm of Cythraul", que reúne momentos de ideologia e matança. Em 2001 saiu o seu sucessor, "Tara".

" O Visão Underground Zine surgiu em 2000 com o objetivo de divulgar as
bandas undergrounds nacionais, acreditando no potencial da música
metálica desenvolvida no Brasil.

Esta Coletânea apresenta um verdadeiro
arsenal de bandas brasileiras, no total de 22 grupos dos mais variados
estados, cantando em nossa língua pátria, em mais de 70 min de muito barulho,
atitude e principalmente espírito underground.

É uma forma também de homenagear
as inesquecíveis bandas como Taurus, Anthares, Azul Limão, Dorsal Atlântica, Stress,
Harppia e tantas outras que iniciaram isso tudo que adoramos décadas atrás, mas que
jamais podem ser esquecidas.
